Calendar of coming DSMA events.

Downtown-Go-Round events showcase member merchants and Downtown Seneca.  Many merchants extend their business hours for these events, and often welcome you with refreshments.  Merchants showcase new art, antiques and collectibles, home accessories, and personal accessories for each event.  Music is also provided.  Come see what's new and available in the Historic District of Downtown Seneca, and enjoy the music too.  These Friday events are from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Music on the Green is now being scheduled through the City of Seneca.  Please view the City web-site at http://www.seneca.sc.us/, or call (864) 885-2700.

Scroll down for a month-by-month schedule.  Be a part of it . . . come and enjoy!

Arts on the Alley Poster Competition Winner

May 24 and 25, 2008 Festival

The Ram Cat Alley Merchant Association of Seneca, S.C. would like to announce the selection of artwork by Bess Ciupak of Seneca, S.C. for the Arts on the Alley 2008 Festival.  Bess’ graphic design was selected to be used in publicity and T-shirts for the May 24 and 25, 2008 festival.
Originally from Michigan, Bess was introduced to art by an extremely dedicated high school teacher who taught her the basics in sketching, renderings, painting, and the like.  Bess began taking classes at the Blue Ridge Arts Council after arriving here in Seneca with her husband, Jack.  She has recently become the first Executive Director of the Blue Ridge Arts Council after years of tireless work as the organization’s president.  She is now teaching a class in watercolors at the Arts Council and concentrating on working in the fund raising field for the arts community in Seneca.  Bess’ work also won the Arts on the Alley Poster Competition in May 2005.
Since it began I April 2003, Arts on the Alley has become an essential cultural ingredient of Historic Downtown Seneca and its’ surrounding areas.  Arts on the Alley presents a series of admission-free events in the downtown area of Seneca during its’ two days.  Arts on the Alley will be May 24 and 25, 2008, as part of the “Meet and 3” Festival, a cooperative effort with the City of Seneca and the Education Foundation of Oconee County.  There will be a BBQ cook off, a cruise in and concerts all weekend.  Produced and directed by Ram Cat Alley Merchant Association, Arts on the Alley showcases and promotes local and regional artists/performers.  It is the mission of Arts on the Alley to bring together the entire community by making the festival available to everyone.
